How to choose a trampoline in Belfast
In Belfast the first question is space. The city has the lowest share of detached homes and the highest share of flats of any council area in Northern Ireland, on the 2021 Census, so plenty of gardens here are small. Settle what your garden can take, and the rest comes down to four decisions: type, shape, size and range. Every price on this page is read from the shop's current list, in euro.
First, look at what you have
- Space. BERG's manual asks for at least 2 metres clear at the sides and 7 metres overhead. Fences, walls, sheds, trees and cables all count. In a small plot this decides more than anything else: see trampolines for small Belfast gardens and yards.
- Level. A trampoline goes on level ground. Measure the part of the garden that is level, or that you are willing to have levelled.
- Water. Belfast gets rain on roughly 156 to 158 days a year, and much of the city is on clay. If water stands on the lawn after rain, that matters most for a trampoline set into the ground.
- Wind. An open garden needs a plan for storms. That affects which type you pick and whether you anchor it.
- Who will use it. nidirect's trampoline safety advice is that children should be at least six, one at a time, always with a safety net.
The weather and soil are covered in wind, rain and ground in Belfast.
1. Type: on legs, or set into the lawn
Decide this before anything else, because two of the three types need a hole dug. We sell and deliver all three. We install none. Who installs a trampoline in Belfast sets out who does that work.
Above ground
€449 to €4,999
Stands on legs on the lawn and comes with a safety net every time. There is no digging. It goes together from BERG's manual, on a level spot.
See Above ground trampolinesInGround
€339 to €1,949
Set down into the lawn, leaving a low raised edge. Sold with a safety net or without. The groundwork is a job for an installer, landscaper or builder.
See InGround trampolinesFlatGround
€699 to €4,999
Level with the grass, so there is no step, no ladder and nothing blocking the view down the garden. It needs groundwork by someone else, as the InGround does.
See FlatGround trampolinesIn wind: a FlatGround is at lawn level and gives the wind far less to catch than a trampoline on legs. A safety net catches wind whatever the type. An above-ground trampoline should be anchored, and BERG advises taking the net down before a storm.
On wet ground: BERG's manual requires the ground-water level to be checked and "adequate drainage" to be provided for InGround and FlatGround models. Whether your garden passes is for the installer to say after a visit. If it does not, above ground is the type that needs nothing from the soil but a level surface.
With awkward access: if the back garden is reached only through the house, raise that with an installer before you settle on a sunken type.
2. Shape: match the space you measured
A square patch suits a circle. A long, narrow garden suits an oval or a rectangle. This is what BERG makes in each shape, with the sizes in our catalogue. All of them are on the trampolines page.
| Shape | Lengths (cm) | Smallest to largest | Types | From |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| RoundNo extra word in the name | 200, 270, 330, 380, 430 | 6.5ft to 14ft | Above ground, InGround, FlatGround | €339 |
| Oval"Grand" in the name | 350, 470, 520 | 11 x 8ft to 17 x 11.5ft | Above ground, InGround | €929 |
| Rectangular"Ultim" in the name | 280, 330, 410, 500 | 9ft to 16 x 10ft | Above ground, InGround, FlatGround | €549 |
| SquareAlso "Ultim" | 200, 500 | 6 x 6ft to 16 x 16ft | Above ground, FlatGround | €699 |
- Round: The shape with the widest choice of sizes, including the two smallest, and BERG's lowest prices.
- Oval: Longer than it is wide. Made above ground or InGround. There is no oval FlatGround.
- Rectangular: The one shape made in every type and every range. BERG's AeroWall stunt wall fits rectangular FlatGround models only.
- Square: Only at the extremes: the small Champion FlatGround and the large Pro Bouncer.
3. Size: the trampoline and the room round it
The number in a BERG name is the size in centimetres, so a 330 measures 330cm, or 11ft. Not every range or type is made in every size. The product cards show only what exists.
The size you can have is the size of your clear, level ground less BERG's 2 metres on each side. That subtraction is a hard one in many Belfast gardens, and it is the reason to measure before you fall for a model. Send the measurements and some photos through the free garden consultation and we will check them against BERG's manual and tell you what fits.
4. Range: Favorit, Champion, Elite or Pro Bouncer
BERG's four ranges differ in springs, mat, protective edge and warranty. The specifications in this table are BERG's own. Favorit, Champion and Elite compared puts the first three side by side in more detail.

This site keeps to a lean catalogue. For a page on each range, our Northern Ireland-wide site, Trampolines Northern Ireland, goes into more depth.
Safety nets and colours
- Above ground: every model has a safety net.
- InGround: with a net or without, as you choose.
- FlatGround: no net on the round models. The larger rectangular models can be bought with one.
- "BERG SPORTS" at the start of a name means no net is supplied.
- BERG's colours are grey, green and black. Nearly everything we list is grey, so ask us about the others.

Frequently Asked Questions
What size trampoline will fit my Belfast garden?+
Measure the level, clear part of the garden, not the whole plot. BERG's manual asks for level ground, at least 2 metres clear of fences, walls and trees, and 7 metres clear overhead. Send us those measurements with a few photos and we will tell you which sizes fit. Our small-garden guide lists the space each small model needs.
Can I have an in-ground trampoline in Belfast?+
Only an installer who has seen the ground can tell you. BERG's manual calls for a check of the ground-water level and adequate drainage for rain water, and parts of Belfast sit on clay. We supply the trampoline and can pass on an independent installer's details.
Should a trampoline be anchored?+
BERG's manual says strong winds and gusts can displace a trampoline and recommends anchoring it. BERG also advises taking the safety net and padding off before a heavy storm. We sell two anchor kits at €55 each.
What is the difference between Favorit, Champion and Elite?+
Favorit has SoloSpring springs, the AirFlow mat and a 20mm protective edge. Champion has TwinSpring springs, the AirFlow Pro mat and a 30mm edge. Elite has Champion's springs and mat with heavier frame tubing, and its padding warranty is 5 years where Champion's is 2.
What do the words in a BERG product name mean?+
The number is the size in centimetres. Grand means oval and Ultim means rectangular. SPORTS means the trampoline is supplied without a safety net. Regular is BERG's word for above ground.
Torn between two sizes?
Send us photos of the garden and the measurements of the clear, level part. We will tell you which BERG trampoline fits and what it costs delivered to Belfast. Free, with no commitment.
